to R.A.M
feelings devoured by you
less than a woman
slop me down like pigs do
tear me open
expose my faults
highlight my problems
mock my mistakes
give me another negative name
say you love me
but hide me in shame
love me just enough
to keep me coming back
love loss
blood lost
wounded
weak
slit my throat with your tongue
no confidence to speak
slice me
dice me
like a fruit
you need to survive
give me just the little
it takes to keep me alive

a very fine poem. Correct errors love. They interrupt the flow of meaning and understanding.
Even my errors are art!!
About "Even my errors are art!!" This is almost a line right out of a poem by Nikki Giovanni. Do you know it? Do you know her? Her line, similarly assertive, teasingly arrogant, is: "Even my errors are correct"
She is an African-American poet, nearly as well known as Maya Angelou and the wonderful Alice Walker, author of The Color Purple and In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens, her book of essays which, at a point, changed my life.
Nikki Giovanni though, attended Fisk University. She was there almost 2 decades before I was. She and Judson and Cleveland Eneas Jr., were at Fisk together in the 60s.
This is her line: "I am so hip even my errors are correct"
It is from a poem called, "Ego Tripping"
