I must learn
the rhythm of sleep
all night I am awake
I just want to fall asleep
Sleep
for goodness sake

I think an important image and metaphor for you, Tia, is diving in the Olympics, off the high diving board. I invite you to concentrate upon the steps you must take, the rhythm of the run up before you leap.
This should guide the significance, the import of the subjects you choose to make a poem of, as well as help to to perfect the rhythm and control required, to perfect how your poem runs.
I must say though, you are on your way or do you think it's safer for you, for now, on the low diving board?
LOW DIVING BOARD:)
Are you modest or conservative or humble or all three; or just wonderful?
I wrote this poem only because I was tired of being awake. I wanted to fall asleep, no more.
I can't answer your question, because I am just me.
